Fatal Collision in Pinner Sparks Urgent Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
A fatal collision that occurred in Pinner earlier this year has prompted an urgent appeal from detectives for witnesses to come forward. The incident took place on Friday, April 14th, at George V Avenue, involving a black Smart car and a pedestrian on the northbound carriageway.
The collision, which happened shortly before 11:00hrs, led to the pedestrian, a 66-year-old man, being taken to a north London hospital. Despite being in critical condition, he tragically passed away on Thursday, June 1st. The man’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens of the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit emphasized the importance of potential witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage coming forward. I know that some time has passed since this collision, but it is my feeling that if you witnessed it, you would certainly remember it, she said. I am very keen to hear from anyone who has information that could assist my investigation, no matter how insignificant it may seem. The driver of the Smart car, a 48-year-old man, has already been interviewed under caution. However, the investigation is still ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
