Warisan Denial: Strength Strengthened by Genuine Leaders
BONGAWAN: Parti Warisan (Warisan) refutes claims that the party’s strength and popularity are waning due to the departure of some of its main leaders. According to Warisan Vice President Dr. Daud Yusuf, the party is now even stronger as it is aligned with genuine leaders who are dedicated to fighting for the interests of Sabah and its people.

Dr. Daud expressed relief over the actions of the leaders who left the party, stating that it has resulted in a cleansing of Warisan without the need for additional internal measures. He emphasized that sincerity and integrity are key principles of the Malaysia Madani concept, which guides Warisan’s struggle in defending the rights and well-being of the people.

In response to the recent resignation of Warisan Youth Chief and Warisan Kinabatangan Division Chief, Mohd Ismail Ayub, Dr. Daud stated that it is actually the parties under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition that are weakening. He highlighted the apparent lack of fair power sharing between GRS and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Sabah, particularly in the distribution of appointments at the grassroots level.

Dr. Daud pointed out that this imbalance should not occur if transparent power-sharing practices are followed. He further stated that such disparities are causing dissatisfaction among the grassroots. His comments echo the concerns raised by Upko President Ewon Benedick, who called for fair power sharing between GRS and PH when it comes to appointing grassroots leaders in Sabah.

Ewon Benedick emphasized that the existing government could not have been formed and maintained without the support of PH representatives. He highlighted the need for power sharing based on the 60:40 concept, with 60% of appointments going to Upko and its affiliated parties, while the remaining 40% is allocated to GRS parties.

Overall, Warisan maintains that it has emerged stronger from the departure of certain leaders, asserting that it now stands united with genuine leaders who are committed to serving Sabah and its people. The party believes that its focus on integrity and sincerity in its struggle for the people aligns with the Malaysia Madani concept. However, concerns over the equitable distribution of power between GRS and PH continue to be raised, with calls for fair power sharing to ensure the satisfaction of all grassroots members.
