Two new members of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Padmasen Chowdhary and Manvendra Singh, were sworn in as members of the Legislative Council on Tuesday. The ceremony took place at the Vidhan Bhavan’s Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon Hall. The Legislative Council’s Chairman, Kunwar Manvendra Singh, administered the oath.
Padmasen Chowdhary and Manvendra Singh were elected in the last week of May after defeating candidates from the Samajwadi Party in the by-elections. Chowdhary received 279 votes while his opponent Ramkaran from the Samajwadi Party received 116 votes. Manvendra Singh, on the other hand, won with 280 votes, beating his rival Ramjatan Rajbhar from the Samajwadi Party, who received 115 votes.
The oath-taking ceremony was witnessed by several important dignitaries, who congratulated the newly-elected members. Principal Secretary of the Legislative Council, Rajesh Singh, informed that the oath ceremony went smoothly without any issues.
It is expected that these two newly-elected BJP Legislators will play a significant role in the development of Uttar Pradesh. The state has been a focus area for the BJP, where it has been implementing several key initiatives, including the Ayushman Bharat scheme and other welfare programs.
In recent times, there have been some political developments in the state that have been closely watched by the country. The elections of Padmasen Chowdhary and Manvendra Singh are considered crucial in the context of these developments.
The BJP is upbeat after its exceptional performance in the recent state assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam. It is looking to maintain this momentum and further its reach across the country.
