Scrap Dealer Assaulted and Robbed in New Delhi: Shocking CCTV Footage Emerges
A scrap dealer in west Delhi fell victim to a brutal assault and robbery perpetrated by three men in broad daylight. The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera and the video has since gone viral on social media.
According to police officials, the scrap dealer was approached by the three assailants who engaged him in conversation. Suddenly, one of them rapidly applied a chokehold using Jiu-Jitsu, a Brazilian martial art technique known as the ‘rear naked choke’. This move restricts oxygen and blood flow to the brain, causing the victim to lose consciousness within seconds.
Seizing the opportunity, another member of the group swiftly snatched money from the scrap dealer’s hand before they all made their escape. The CCTV footage also documented the moment when the scrap dealer regained consciousness.
The shocking incident came to the attention of the Hari Nagar police station staff after an informant shared the CCTV footage. Subsequently, the local police team examined other CCTV recordings in the area and identified the victim as Sanjay, aged 32. Deputy Commissioner of Police (west), Vichitra Veer, stated, His statement has been recorded now and an FIR has been registered under section 392/34 of the Indian Penal Code. According to his statement, he was robbed of Rs 3,200.
In a commendable development, the police managed to apprehend two of the accused, identified as Vikas and Sahil. Efforts are underway to track down the third suspect.
