Mexican-American Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Turns Himself in to Authorities in Samaná
Mexican-American rapper, Daniel Hernández, widely known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, has voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Samaná, Dominican Republic. Jurist Andrés Toribio Jr has confirmed that Tekashi decided to turn himself in after authorities requested a search warrant for Hotel Balcones del Atlántico in Sánchez, Samaná, where he was staying. In a phone conversation, Toribio recommended that the artist surrender to the authorities, a decision Tekashi agreed upon.
Currently, Tekashi is being transported to La Vega province, where he will be held while efforts are made to establish an agreement among the parties involved. It is worth noting that an immigration order had been issued against Tekashi, prohibiting him from leaving the country.
The charges against Tekashi stem from an incident at the Diamond ‘La Music Recording Studio Mafia,’ where he allegedly assaulted producers Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario García. Reports suggest that the outburst arose from a jealous episode, as Tekashi misled his partner, Yailin, into believing he was in Miami when he was actually in the Dominican Republic. Yailin was recording her album at the studio during that time.
Tekashi is now facing charges under articles 265, 266, 307, and 309 of the Dominican Penal Code, which pertain to the assault on Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario García.
