In a thrilling weekend of Scottish women’s football, Rangers stormed to a resounding 7-0 victory over Hibernian, while Celtic and Glasgow City secured impressive away wins in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Rangers dominated their match at Ibrox, taking just over half an hour to open the scoring with a long-range strike from Kirsty Howat. Rio Hardy quickly doubled their lead, and Howat struck again before halftime. Inspired by manager Jo Potter, Rangers continued their attacking prowess in the second half, with goals from Kathryn Hill, Megan Bell, and two more from Howat, bringing her league tally to 12 for the season.

Speaking after the match, Howat expressed her joy at scoring goals and highlighted the significance of doing so at Ibrox.

Celtic maintained their flawless record with a hard-fought 3-0 victory against Partick Thistle. After a quiet start, Paula Partido broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark. Murphy Agnew doubled Celtic’s lead in the 67th minute, and Chloe Craig sealed the win with a goal seven minutes later.

Celtic will face Rangers in a highly anticipated clash next week, with the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table. On the other hand, Partick Thistle will be looking to bounce back from their defeat as they face a challenging away test against Aberdeen.

Glasgow City narrowly escaped an upset as they emerged with a 3-2 win over Aberdeen. Brenna Lovera gave City the lead after 24 minutes, but Aberdeen fought back with goals from Eva Thomson and Hannah Stewart. Lovera equalized for City, and Kinga Kozak secured the victory with her goal on her birthday.

Although disappointed with their performance, Glasgow City Head Coach, Leanne Ross, acknowledged the grit and determination shown by Aberdeen. The win sets up an important week for Glasgow City as they prepare for their UEFA Women’s Champions League match against Norwegian opponents.

In a thrilling encounter, Hearts produced a dramatic 4-3 victory over Spartans. After falling two goals behind, Hearts mounted a remarkable comeback in the final quarter of the game. Olufolasade Adamolekun emerged as the hero, scoring the winning goal in the dying minutes of the match.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Academical and Montrose battled it out to a 1-1 draw, leaving them three points apart in the lower half of the table. Both teams exchanged early goals but failed to find a winner, with Montrose missing a penalty in the closing moments of the game.

Motherwell showcased their attacking prowess with a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Dundee United. Gill Inglis opened the scoring, and goals from Bailley Collins, Joanne Addie, Inglis again, Kayla Jardine, and Laura McCartney completed the rout.

With the Scottish Women’s Premier League in full swing, the competition continues to provide entertaining matches and thrilling moments. As the season progresses, Celtic remains the team to beat, but their upcoming clash with Rangers will surely test their mettle.
