A three-year-old toddler in Kamareddy, Telangana sustained multiple injuries after being attacked by stray dogs on Monday. The incident occurred in Mudholi village of Gandhari Mandal while the boy was playing outside a function hall. The dog suddenly attacked him, causing injuries to his head and stomach. The locals who saw the boy in pain somehow moved the dog away and rushed the boy to the hospital. The boy is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
Although an official statement from the police and municipal authorities is awaited into the incident, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao expressed concern back in February regarding dog attacks and vowed to work in full capacity to ensure that they do not occur in the future. He made the remarks while reacting to the death of a five-year-old boy who was mauled by stray dogs in Hyderabad.
We have been trying to tackle street dog menace in our municipalities. We’ve created animal care centres and animal birth control centres. My sincere condolences to the family and we’ll ensure that our best is done so that these incidents are not repeated, the BRS leader had said.
