The Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) recently organized a ‘Jan Chaupal’ in Ward number 66, Lower Roop Nagar to understand the public’s aspirations and intensify their Mera Jammu Kashmir, Mera Adhikar campaign. Many individuals expressed their displeasure regarding the imposition of Property Tax while Shashi Bala and Bitoo Bhatt were concerned about escalating power cuts and exorbitant electricity bills.
The president of Shiv Sena J&K, Manish Sahni, and Colonel S.S Pathania (retired), SSP president, spoke on the occasion and expressed that there is public anger towards the government’s anti-people decisions and policies. Both parties announced a joint candidate for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) polls in J&K and declared Balwant Singh as the joint candidate for Ward number 66.
Sahni emphasized that the purpose of the Jan Chaupals is to engage with the public, understand their concerns and aspirations, and select candidates for upcoming elections based on public opinion. He further stated that instructions have been issued to all leaders and activists to remain vigilant and accessible to the public.
Meenakshi Chibber, Vikas Bakshi, Sanjeev Kohli, Uma Devi, Varinder Baloria, Sunil Dutt, social worker Satish Poonchi, Sikender Singh, Parshotam, Sohan Singh, S.K Raina, Kulwant, Babli Devi, Bittu, Vishal Bakshi, Sonu Gupta, Madhu Devi, Asha Devi, and others were also present at the event.
The joint campaign between Shiv Sena and Sainik Samaj Party comes at a crucial time for J&K.
