The Field Director, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), and three Rangers of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh, India have been removed from their posts following the deaths of tigers in the reserve since April 21. The high-level probe was ordered by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after three tigers reportedly died at the national park in the last couple of weeks. Officials have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact reason behind it. The Forest Minister, Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, revealed that the tigers died due to negligence. The Chief Forest Conservator, Vijay Singh, is taking charge as the new Field Director of the reserve, while Bareilly’s Chief Conservator of Forests Lalit Verma has been given the responsibility of Dudhwa’s Field Director. The investigation is still ongoing.
