Daniel Ricciardo Set for Return to F1 at US GP in Austin
Australian Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is set to make a comeback at the upcoming US Grand Prix in Austin following his recent absence due to a broken hand. Ricciardo, who was sacked by McLaren mid-season, had to sit out several races before his return to the sport. During his time away, Liam Lawson filled in as his substitute for five races.
According to Alpha Tauri CEO Peter Bayer, Ricciardo had a successful run in the Red Bull simulator on Monday, which has paved the way for his return. He said that he could go almost until the end. But it was not 100 percent. And we didn’t want to rush things, Bayer stated. However, their decision to give Ricciardo more time was made easier due to the presence of a top third driver who could take his place in the interim.
Although it is not confirmed, Lawson himself mentioned that it is likely Ricciardo will be back in Austin for the US GP. I would say it’s likely that he’ll be back in Austin, but obviously I can’t say for certain, Lawson commented during an interview in Qatar.
Ricciardo’s return to the track is highly anticipated by fans, and the driver himself is eager to get back behind the wheel. With his experience and skill, his presence in the upcoming race will surely add excitement and competition to the F1 circuit.
It is worth noting that Ricciardo’s absence has allowed other drivers to showcase their abilities, with Liam Lawson stepping up to the challenge during his five-race stint as Ricciardo’s substitute. This further adds to the intrigue and anticipation surrounding Ricciardo’s return and how he will fare against his competitors.
As fans eagerly await the US GP in Austin, the return of Daniel Ricciardo injects a renewed sense of excitement into the Formula 1 scene. His comeback will undoubtedly be a highlight of the race, as he aims to make a strong impression and prove his worth once again. The stage is set for a thrilling showdown as Ricciardo takes to the track alongside his fellow drivers, and anticipation builds for a memorable race in Austin.
