A container truck got stuck on a road in Patna, Bihar, after it caved in, causing severe traffic disruption. The incident, which occurred near Agamkuan-Sheetala Mata Mandir road, resulted in daily commuters and devotees travelling to Sheetala Mata Mandir being stranded in the sweltering heat. Pictures of the incident quickly went viral on social media, with some users making fun of the incident while others criticised the poor quality of the road construction. Traffic police arrived on the scene and used a crane to remove the truck so that traffic movement could be restored. Local residents alleged that the road construction was carried out under the ‘Namami Gange’ project, using subpar materials, resulting in the collapse. The Nitish Kumar-led government faced public backlash following the incident.
