CS Urges Power Distribution Companies to Quickly Resolve Electricity Supply Issues in India

The Chief Secretary of Odisha, P K Jena, has asked power distribution companies to quickly resolve issues with electricity supply as protests take place across the state over frequent power outages during the hot summer months. Jena has called on companies to restore power quickly following weather-related incidents, such as nor’westers, and work on prevention to minimize power disruption. There have been calls for energy minister P K Deb to step down and protests about his failure to ensure uninterrupted power supplies across the state. The TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd, however, says it has implemented several measures to reduce the impact of heatwaves and weather on power networks.
