Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced the opening of 300 colleges in Rajasthan over the past five years. Speaking to a public gathering in Pratapgarh, Gehlot emphasized that women’s education had been a focus, with over 100 girls’ colleges established during the Congress government’s recent tenure. Gehlot also revealed that his ministry had opened medical colleges in every district of Rajasthan, a considerable feat given that the state had only a few medical institutions located in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner previously. In addition, Gehlot revealed that he is considering offering free smartphones through a new government scheme. Lastly, Gehlot announced on June 1 that residents of Rajasthan would not be charged for consuming up to 100 units of electricity per month.
