Husband Found Guilty of Brutal Murder of Wife: Sentencing Awaited
Thiruvananthapuram, India – In a shocking development, a 37-year-old man has been declared guilty for the brutal murder of his wife. The sixth additional sessions court Judge K Vishnu delivered the verdict and announced that the quantum of punishment would be decided on Saturday.
The incident dates back to October 27, 2011, when Nisha, a 37-year-old woman residing in Chemboor, was tragically murdered by her husband, Santhosh, 37, from Muttappalam. Santhosh, reportedly an alcoholic, had a history of attacking his wife while under the influence of alcohol.
Due to the persistent abuse, Nisha took the courageous step of filing a case with the Attingal police. Unfortunately, this act of seeking justice only incensed the accused further. Out of anger and vengeance, Santhosh ended Nisha’s life by repeatedly striking her head with an iron rod. The trial, however, encountered delays after the accused absconded during the proceedings.
Eventually, Santhosh was apprehended and brought to custody to face trial. Throughout the legal proceedings, public prosecutor M Salahudeen, along with advocates Devika Madhu and Akhila Lal, represented the prosecution. A total of 14 witnesses testified in court, and 18 documents and seven material objects were presented as evidence.
The investigation of this distressing case was undertaken by former circle inspector B Anil Kumar, who currently serves as the DSP of the district crime records bureau.
While the verdict has been delivered, the sentencing is yet to be announced. The court’s decision will be eagerly anticipated by all those concerned with this heinous crime. The judicial system aims to ensure justice and deliver punishment commensurate with the severity of the offense.
