Malaysia’s national women’s squash team has secured a spot in the finals of the Asian Games team event after defeating South Korea 2-0 in the semi-finals. The second-seeded Malaysians put on an impressive performance at the Hangzhou Olympic Sport Centre Squash Court.

Aifa Azman, who only needed 20 minutes, dominated the match against South Korea’s Eum Hwayeong, winning with scores of 11-4, 11-1, 11-8. This victory gave Malaysia the first point. S. Sivasangari followed suit and outclassed Lee Jihyun with an 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 win, securing a comfortable victory for the team. Their next challenge will come in the form of top seeds and defending champions Hong Kong, who defeated India 2-1 in the other semi-final match. The Malaysian team is familiar with Hong Kong’s playing style, having faced them in numerous tournaments before. Rachel Arnold commented, We will go back and do an analysis on our game and their game as preparations. Hopefully, we can do well.
