Eve Air Mobility and Moviation have joined forces to advance urban air mobility in South Korea. Eve, a leading company in the urban air mobility sector, will provide its Urban ATM solution to Moviation, South Korea’s first UAM service provider. This software solution plays a crucial role in enabling the implementation and scalability of UAM by offering essential traffic management services.

The collaboration comes as Eve’s Urban ATM concept is adopted as part of Korea’s K-UAM Grand Challenge, a demonstration program aimed at testing UAM vehicle safety and traffic management solutions in urban conditions. The goal is to support the commercialization of UAM in South Korea by 2025.

David Rottblatt, Vice President of Sales and Government Affairs at Eve Air Mobility, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in advancing UAM in South Korea. He stated that South Korea is one of the first countries to lay the groundwork for UAM and that the partnership with Moviation will showcase the value of Urban ATM technology in safely initiating and scaling UAM operations in the country.

The Urban ATM solution developed by Eve is based on existing air traffic control software for piloted, passenger-carrying aircraft. It offers services for air navigation service providers, urban authorities, fleet operators, vertiport operators, and other UAM stakeholders. This solution will play a critical role in managing and coordinating air traffic in the urban air environment, ensuring the safe integration of eVTOL operations with other airspace users.

Moviation CEO Min Shin expressed his commitment to contributing to the global advancement of the UAM industry through the systematic accumulation and dissemination of data. He highlighted Moviation’s dedication to delivering a secure and reliable UAM service by integrating cutting-edge technology. Moviation plans to work closely with Eve in testing and accumulating flight data to achieve seamless integration of the Urban Air Traffic Management (UATM) system.

To support the development of the Urban ATM software solution, Eve has engaged Atech, Embraer’s Air Traffic Control technology and system integrator company. Leveraging Atech’s experience in developing aviation-grade products, Eve aims to create a robust and efficient software solution that meets the demands of the UAM industry.

Eve continues to collaborate with regulators, customers, air navigation service providers, fleet operators, vertiport developers, airports, and other stakeholders in the UAM ecosystem worldwide. The company aims to advance concepts and develop technology that supports initial operations and the scaling of UAM from an ATM perspective.

By partnering with Moviation, Eve is further solidifying its position in the global UAM market and contributing to the future of sustainable and efficient urban transportation. The collaboration will pave the way for the safe and widespread use of eVTOLs in South Korea and serve as a model for other countries looking to embrace UAM.
