Florida State Women’s Basketball has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season, which promises exciting matchups in the strong ACC conference. Ranked 15th in ESPNW’s recent preseason poll, the Seminoles are gearing up for what looks to be a competitive and thrilling season.

The conference slate for Florida State kicks off on Friday, December 29, at 2 p.m. with a game against Georgia Tech at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles will have the advantage of playing nine home games in conference play, including matchups against Wake Forest, No. 19 North Carolina, No. 9 Virginia Tech, and No. 10 Notre Dame, amongst others. These home games will provide an excellent opportunity for fans to show their support and enjoy some top-quality women’s college basketball.

On the road, Florida State will face tough opponents such as NC State, Clemson, Syracuse, and No. 14 Louisville. These away games will test the Seminoles’ resilience and provide valuable experience as they navigate the challenges of ACC play. It’s a true test of their skills and a chance to measure themselves against other formidable teams in the conference.

Head coach Brooke Wyckoff recognizes the strength of the ACC and the importance of every game in preparing the team for the NCAA postseason. She understands that each game presents both a challenge and an opportunity for her players to showcase their abilities and fine-tune their skills for the ultimate goal of reaching the NCAA Tournament.

The Seminoles return a solid core of players, led by sophomore guard Ta’Niya Latson, who was named the national freshman of the year last season. Latson’s scoring prowess will be crucial for the team’s success. Junior forward Makayla Timpson, graduate guard Sara Bejedi, and junior guard O’Mariah Gordon also bring valuable experience and contribute to the team’s strength. Additionally, new additions such as transfer players Alexis Tucker and Sakyia White, along with talented freshmen Avery Treadwell, Lucia Navarro, and Carla Viegas, add depth and promise to the squad.

The season opener will see the Seminoles face Charleston Southern on Monday, November 6, followed by two exhibition games against Flagler and Clayton State at the Tucker Center. These games will provide an opportunity for the team to fine-tune their strategies and build chemistry before the regular season.

Fans can expect an action-packed season filled with thrilling moments and intense matchups. The Seminoles are determined to build on their success from last season’s NCAA Tournament run and make a strong statement in the ACC. With a talented roster, experienced coaching staff, and a challenging schedule ahead, Florida State Women’s Basketball is ready to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.
