The High Court’s recent verdict to reconduct the Group-1 (Preliminary) examination in Telangana has exposed the government’s negligence and eroded confidence in its ability to handle educational institutions. Telangana Congress president A. Revanth Reddy has strongly criticized the government, stating that this decision reflects a trend of destructive actions that have been detrimental to the careers of students and young people.

Reddy wrote a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, highlighting the long-standing issue of deprivation faced by the youth and students since the formation of Telangana in 2014. He criticized the government’s non-serious approach and pointed out several instances that have lowered people’s confidence in the system, such as the suicide of 27 students due to mistakes in the evaluation of Intermediate papers, paper leakage incidents in various recruitment exams, and leakage of papers in the TSPSC recruitment exams.

Expressing his disappointment, Reddy stated that despite these serious concerns, there has been no change in the government’s attitude. He accused the government of failing to take timely action or hold review meetings. Reddy also accused the government of repeatedly cheating on the issue of job vacancies, which had attracted the youth of Telangana during the elections.

According to Reddy, approximately 30 lakh youngsters have been preparing for exams, staying in hostels and paying for coaching centers with the financial support provided by their parents. However, the government has shown no empathy towards their struggles. The Group-1 (Preliminary) examination conducted on October 22 last year had to be canceled due to paper leakage, which was a result of the government’s negligence and incompetence.

Reddy further criticized the government for conducting the same examination again on June 11 this year without taking proper action against those responsible for the paper leakage. He emphasized that punishing the students for the mistakes committed by others is unfair.

Reddy also highlighted the role played by the NSUI, the Congress party’s student wing, in exposing the misdeeds and fighting for justice on behalf of lakhs of aspirants. However, he accused the government of targeting NSUI leaders, suppressing them with police force, and filing cases against them.

This recent verdict by the High Court has once again brought to the forefront the government’s negligence and the erosion of confidence in educational institutions. The cancellation and re-conduction of the Group-1 (Preliminary) examination have raised serious concerns about the government’s ability to uphold the integrity of such important exams. The youth and students of Telangana deserve a fair and transparent system that values their hard work and dedication. It is essential for the government to take immediate action to restore trust and ensure the future of these aspiring individuals.
