An 11-year-old boy was found dead in Kerala’s Kannur district in India, in a suspected stray dog attack. According to the Edakkad police, the boy, named Nihal, went out of his house on Sunday evening and did not return home. His family and locals searched for him in the area and found his body with multiple injury marks presumed to have been caused by an animal bite. The boy was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Last year, a 12-year-old died after being attacked by a stray dog in Kerala’s Kottayam. The country has seen a sudden increase in dog attacks, with incidents resulting in victims’ deaths. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan previously stated that killing the dogs would not solve the problem, and a scientific solution is needed to address the issue.
