Knoxville, Tennessee – The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley has been selected as the Community Partner for the 2024 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. This partnership aims to promote active lifestyles among youth in East Tennessee and will see a portion of the proceeds from the marathon donated to the nonprofit organization.

Last year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley joined forces with the marathon organizers, and the results were outstanding. Not only did the partnership exceed expectations, with registration numbers growing by more than 75% compared to the previous year, but it also had a positive impact on the children and families involved. Jason Altman, the race director, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, Reaching that many children and that many families was incredible.

Bart McFadden, CEO and president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Tennessee Valley, shared his excitement about being chosen as the 2024 Community Partner, highlighting the success of their participation in the marathon’s Kids Run last year. He mentioned that the club’s kids collectively ran an impressive 700 marathons, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, scheduled for April 6-7, 2024, at World’s Fair Park, has a longstanding tradition of supporting East Tennessee charities. Over the years, more than $240,000 has been donated through the marathon’s community contribution program. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley follows in the footsteps of previous partners like the Emerald Youth Foundation and Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center, symbolizing the marathon’s dedication to giving back to the community.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley provides critical youth development services to over 6,700 children across several counties in East Tennessee, including Knox, Blount, Loudon, Anderson, and Claiborne. With the support of the marathon, the organization can continue its mission of empowering young individuals through educational, recreational, and leadership programs.

By choosing the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley as their 2024 Community Partner, the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon reinforces its commitment to fostering healthy living and making a positive impact in the lives of East Tennessee’s youth.
