Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA in Punjab and state co-incharge, Manjinder Singh Lalpura, has attacked both the Congress and BJP governments, stating that the latter is more corrupt. Speaking at a press conference, Lalpura accused the BJP government of corruption in its handling of the Mahakal Lok, where seven sages’ idols made of fiberglass reinforced plastic were broken and blown away in the wind at only 12 km per hour, which cost crores of rupees. He charged that the government had failed to take proper care of the Mahakal Baba Temple, which now only caters to wealthier visitors.
Lalpura also accused the BJP government of digressing crores of rupees, claiming that the Kshipra River remains polluted despite the funds invested. According to him, the public is contemptuous and is hoping to see a change in government soon. He voiced his belief that the coming elections would teach the BJP-led government a lesson at the expense of corrupt activities.
In conclusion, large amounts of money have allegedly been lost as a result of the lack of transparency surrounding the BJP government’s dealings with the Mahakal temple and Kshipra River. Lalpura asserted that the public is seeking accountability and will not forgive the current government for its perceived lack of transparency and corruption.
