Pregnant Women Chanting ‘Sunderkand’ and Reading ‘Ramayana’ for Sound Babies: Telangana Governor

The Governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan, has suggested that pregnant women should chant Sunderkand from the Ramayana to have healthy babies. She made the statement during the virtual launch of the Garbha Samskara Module. The Governor stressed the importance of a holistic approach to the health of pregnant women, stating that reading epics such as Ramayana had a positive impact on the mental and physical well-being of the mother and child. She added that in Tamil Nadu, learning the Sunderkand of Kamban Ramayana was believed to be especially beneficial for the baby. The Governor’s comments were made to promote a scientific yet holistic approach to pregnancy that prioritizes both the physical and mental health of mother and child.
