There is speculation in Rajasthan about former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot leaving the Congress and forming his own political party. However, Pilot has remained quiet on the issue while other leaders deny the rumors. Many Congress leaders feel that Pilot and the party are synonymous with each other and that it’s important for both of them to remain united.
Last year, the Congress high command wanted Ashok Gehlot to become the national president and hand over the CM’s chair to Pilot, but the situation changed due to the resignations of MLAs. While there were several occasions when Gehlot camp pressured the high command to act against Pilot, the central leadership of the Congress called Pilot an asset for the party every time.
Pilot supporters and MLAs do not want him to leave the Congress, and they are hopeful that Pilot and Gehlot can work together to help the Congress in the upcoming elections. The MLAs understand that if Pilot forms a new party, it will be difficult for them to win without the support of the Congress cadre votes.
All eyes will be on June 11, which marks the death anniversary of Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, to see whether Sachin Pilot will form a new party, how many MLAs will be with him, or whether it will be a show of strength for the Gehlot government. However, Pilot has remained silent, causing even more suspense among party workers.
