Three brothers in Paschim Tola, India, were involved in a fatal altercation that occurred as a result of a dispute over an insurance payout. The argument, which began over the division of Rs 2 lakh (approximately $2,700) in insurance money received by the eldest brother following their mother’s death, escalated into a physical fight, leading to tragic consequences.
According to the police, the youngest of the three brothers, Ram Asrey (45), lost his life during the incident. Family members of the deceased lodged complaints, prompting the registration of a case against the other two brothers at Purwa police station.
Circle Officer Deepak Singh revealed that the situation arose after the death of their mother, Ramrani, in a road accident nine months ago. The insurance amount of Rs 2 lakh was recently transferred to the account of Rajbahadur, the eldest son. This financial decision sparked an argument among the siblings on Thursday night, leading to a heated quarrel and ultimately culminating in physical violence. The three brothers allegedly attacked each other with sticks.
Ram Asrey sustained severe injuries during the altercation and was immediately rushed to a local community health center in Purwa. However, due to the seriousness of his condition, he was subsequently transferred to the district hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
In response to the complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased, the police have taken action and registered a case against the remaining brothers involved in the altercation. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the accused individuals.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means. The loss of a loved one should not escalate into violence, causing further pain and tragedy for the family.
