Teenagers Allegedly Kidnap and Stab Man at Lake Mead – Shocking Details Emerge
A group of teenagers in Las Vegas are facing serious charges after allegedly kidnapping a young man, taking him to Lake Mead, and stabbing him multiple times before leaving him for dead. The disturbing incident unfolded on November 3, 2022, when the victim managed to call for help from an emergency phone near the Government Wash at Lake Mead.
Authorities have arrested four individuals, all aged between 18 and 19, in connection with the horrifying crime. The defendants have been identified as Nathan Belloso, 19, Dianna Cruz-Hernandez, 19, Eduardo Campos, 18, and Joseph Payton, 19. The victim, whose identity is being withheld from the public, was found by park rangers with eight stab wounds.
According to court documents obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators, the victim received a text message on November 2 from Nathan Belloso. The following day, Belloso, Cruz-Hernandez, Campos, and Payton picked up the victim from a friend’s house before driving to Lake Mead. Once there, the group forced the victim to leave his phone, led him to a ditch, and proceeded to stab him multiple times. The victim, fearing for his life, played dead as the assailants pelted him with rocks.
After the attackers left, the victim managed to get up and seek help. Tragically, everyone he approached turned him away, except for one person who directed him to an emergency phone near the bathrooms. The victim later disclosed to a park investigator that the motive behind the attack was related to a bro code violation involving a girl.
Further investigation revealed messages exchanged among the group, including one apparently from Belloso expressing remorse and distress over the incident. Belloso, Campos, Cruz-Hernandez, and Payton now face charges including battery with a deadly weapon, battery with intent to commit mayhem, robbery or grand larceny, kidnapping, attempted murder, and robbery. They are currently in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.
During a court hearing, Judge Nadia Wood set varying bail amounts for each defendant. Campos’s bail was set at $250,000, while Belloso and Cruz-Hernandez received a bail amount of $150,000 each. Payton’s bail was set at $75,000. Booking photos for Campos and Payton were not immediately available.
The gruesome incident at Lake Mead has shocked the community, highlighting the need for vigilance and swift action against such heinous acts. As the case unfolds, authorities will continue to investigate and ensure justice is served for the victim. Society at large must reflect on the tragic nature of this crime and work collectively to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
