Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a swipe at Congress, saying that the ten years of the grand old party’s reign increased poverty, while the nine years of BJP rule brought pride. Delivering a speech in Nanded, Maharashtra, on the completion of nine years of the Modi government, Shah claimed that Modi’s government has been a time of welfare initiatives for the poor. He also criticised Uddhav Thackeray‘s stance on reservation, stating that the BJP does not agree with the idea of Muslim reservation as it goes against the Constitution. The BJP believes that it is not reasonable to have reservations based on religion. Amit Shah will also address rallies in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh and is scheduled to visit Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh in a two-day tour.
