ComEd and League of Chicago Theatres Grant $205K for Arts Accessibility in Illinois, US

ComEd, in partnership with the League of Chicago Theatres, has announced a grant of $205,000 to local community arts organizations in northern Illinois. The funding aims to promote artistic accessibility in the region and support arts initiatives that enhance community programming, engagement, and overall appreciation for the arts.

The annual Powering the Arts Grant Program, now in its sixth year, has contributed over $850,000 in funding since 2018. This year, 17 nonprofit organizations, including local theaters, arts programs, cultural organizations, and youth centers, will receive individual grants of up to $25,000 each.

ComEd recognizes the significance of reinvesting in the communities it serves and values the continued partnership with the League of Chicago Theatres to make the program a success. The League of Chicago Theatres is delighted to collaborate with ComEd once again to uphold its mission of providing access and funding for the arts.

The 17 grant recipients for the 2023 Powering the Arts Program span various focus areas, including children’s art programs, music programs, cultural dancing, and theater.
