Country music fans are mourning the loss of beloved singer Charlie Robison, who passed away at the age of 59. Robison, known for his hit singles like I Want You Bad and My Hometown, left behind a lasting legacy in the industry. His wife, Kristen Robison, confirmed the news on Facebook, expressing her devastation and requesting prayers for their family during this difficult time.

According to a family representative, Charlie Robison suffered cardiac arrest and other complications, ultimately succumbing to his condition at a hospital in San Antonio. Born on September 1, 1964, Robison began his music career in the 1980s, playing with various bands in Austin before forming the Millionaire Playboys. In 1996, he released his debut solo album, Bandera.

Robison’s talent caught the attention of Sony, leading him to sign with them in 1998. His album Life of the Party gained popularity, with well-known tracks like My Hometown and Sunset Boulevard. His single I Want You Bad from the 2001 album Step Right Up even reached the top 40 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

In 2018, Robison revealed that he had permanently lost his ability to sing due to complications from throat surgery. Despite this setback, he continued to make an impact in the industry. He served as a judge on the popular reality singing competition show Nashville Star for a year, showcasing his knowledge and expertise.

Charlie Robison is survived by his wife Kristen, his brother Bruce, who is also a singer-songwriter, as well as four children and stepchildren. His first wife, Emily Strayer, a founding member of the country band the Chicks, gave him three children before their divorce in 2008.
