New Northeast River Valley Park Opens with Spectacular Features

Northeast River Valley Park, previously known as Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch North, is all set to open its doors to the public on September 24th at 11 a.m. Spanning an impressive 76 hectares, this park is larger than even the renowned Hawrelak Park, and equivalently spacious to a staggering 150 football fields.

Embracing a vision of connectivity, the new greenspace boasts seamless integration with other river valley trails, ensuring a harmonious network of outdoor adventures. One of the highlights is the charming barn bridges that add a touch of rustic charm to the park’s aesthetic. Additionally, visitors will be thrilled to discover an ornamental lake, perfect for non-motorized paddling activities, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Designed to cater to the diverse needs of the community, the park includes a large events center, an ideal venue for both intimate gatherings and unforgettable weddings. Moreover, trail connections within the park allow visitors to explore the vast beauty of the surrounding area at their leisure. Families with children will find delight in the thoughtfully designed children’s playground, ensuring endless fun for the little ones. Public washrooms are also conveniently available for visitors’ comfort.

Originally scheduled to open in August, the park’s inauguration had to be postponed due to the nesting season of migratory birds. The city demonstrated its commitment to environmental preservation by pausing some outdoor work in order to protect the nesting sites and ensure the well-being of these birds.

As the grand opening of Northeast River Valley Park draws near, excitement fills the air. The park’s spacious expanse and array of features are expected to provide locals and tourists alike with a stunning recreational space to immerse themselves in nature’s beauty. With its seamless trail connections, charming barn bridges, tranquil ornamental lake, events center, children’s playground, and numerous other amenities, this park is set to become a beloved gem in the heart of the city.

Be sure to mark your calendars for September 24th at 11 a.m. and join in the celebration as Northeast River Valley Park captivates visitors with its unparalleled features and breathtaking scenery. It’s an experience not to be missed!
