H&ME Department Promotes 243 Faculty Members of GMCs

The Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department in J&K has announced the promotion of 243 faculty members of the Medical Education cadre working at various government medical colleges. The move is expected to elevate the quality of teaching, research, and patient care in all Government Medical Colleges in the region and make Jammu & Kashmir a hub of medical education. The promotion includes 92 faculty members from GMC Srinagar, 73 from GMC Jammu, and 78 from newly established colleges. The H&ME Department has also actively resolved the service matters of faculty members of GMCs in recent months. The elevation of 167 faculty members from the old GMCs will aid in the enhancement of postgraduate seats in Government Medical College Srinagar and Jammu. The H&ME Department is referring vacancies in all new GMCs to JKPSC for fast-track selection to meet the requirements of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the National Medical Commission.
