External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his flagship mission, PM Awas Yojana, for providing accommodations to more than 3.5 crore people in India. He explained that providing homes to 3.5 crore people is equivalent to providing homes for Japan’s entire population. PMAY-U mission is a part of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and provides urban housing for EWS/LIG and MIG categories, including slum dwellers.
