AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has criticized Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his ‘Aurangzeb ki aulad’ (the progeny of Aurangzeb) remark and questioned him on the offspring of Nathuram Godse and Narayan Apte, who were responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. Owaisi condemned the BJP and Sangh Parivar for spreading hatred and targeting Muslims. He also accused them of creating a conspiracy to create riots in Maharashtra ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. In addition, he noted that there is a list of banned organizations in the first schedule of UAPA and dared the BJP and RSS to have a list of prohibited names like Tipu Sultan, Aurangzeb, Babar, Khilji, Jahangir, Bahadur Shah Zafar and Quli Qutb Shah, and not include Godse, Apte, and Pahwa, who were part of a murderous plot against the Father of the Nation.
