Communal Tension Grips Uttar Pradesh as Schoolboy Allegedly Fatally Assaulted

The sister is also a student at the same school.
Despite the police denying any link to eve-teasing, stating that the boy was killed due to an argument over an unrelated matter, dissatisfaction with their explanation has driven the crowd to take matters into their own hands. The protesters, accompanied by the boy’s family and locals, vandalized an ambulance and later gathered at the Khiri police station. The demand for justice intensified as they insisted on the punishment of the culprits and the destruction of the accused’s residences.
Authorities swiftly responded to the situation, mobilizing senior police officers and district administration officials, including Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma. They managed to calm the agitators and assured them that the matter would be handled appropriately. Additional police forces, including the Rapid Action Force (RAF), were deployed to ensure the situation remains under control.
Upon the complaint from the victim’s family, the police lodged an FIR against the two named accused and three others who remain unidentified. Two police officials have been suspended on the charges of dereliction of duty, confirmed Ramit Sharma.
