Pravaig Dynamics Launches Interceptor EV SUV for Military with Rugged Design and Impressive Performance
Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up, Pravaig Dynamics, recently unveiled its latest offering, the Interceptor EV SUV, specifically designed for military use. The Interceptor, previously known as Veer, is built on the platform of the company’s Defy Electric SUV and incorporates several shared components. With its rugged and bare-bone structure, devoid of doors, the Interceptor boasts a customizable interior and exterior according to the military’s requirements.
In terms of dimensions, the Interceptor measures at 4940 mm in length, 1650 mm in height, and 950 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm. It features a commendable ground clearance of 280 mm, making it suitable for various terrains. Additionally, the SUV will be equipped with a four-tonne winch, a two-tonne tow hitch, and IP 65-rated equipment storage.
The design of the Interceptor is both robust and striking. Its open-top construction with a rollbar, bonnet, fenders, and boot contribute to its formidable appearance. Pravaig Dynamics also offers the military the option to customize both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, ensuring it aligns with their specific needs.
In terms of features, the Interceptor will come equipped with LED headlights, a touchscreen infotainment screen, a 360-degree camera, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and a 77GHz radar. In the enclosed cabin version, it will feature a HEPA air filter powered by a MultiVAC computer system. Safety is of paramount importance, with multiple airbags, ABS & ESC, anti-theft alarm & immobilizer system, manual override mode, vehicle remote access, EBD, TPMS, and 3-point safety belts included.
Powering the Interceptor is a 90.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack in conjunction with dual 150 kW permanent magnet synchronous motors. This combination churns out an impressive 620 Nm of torque, delivering swift acceleration. The electric motors distribute power to all four wheels, ensuring optimal performance in any terrain.
Pravaig Dynamics claims that the Interceptor offers a range of over 500 km on a single charge, making it highly capable for long-distance operations. Furthermore, it boasts remarkable acceleration capabilities, reaching 0-100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of up to 210 kmph.
While pricing and launch details for the Interceptor have not been disclosed by Pravaig Dynamics, the launch of this military-focused electric SUV marks another significant milestone for the Bengaluru-based start-up. With its rugged design, impressive performance, and extensive range, the Interceptor EV SUV firmly establishes Pravaig Dynamics as a fierce contender in the electric vehicle market, even within the military sector.
