Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Arabia‘s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman recently spoke on the phone to discuss enhancing ties between their countries. Modi tweeted that the conversation included talks about “boosting ties in connectivity, energy, defense, trade & investment”. He also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia‘s assistance in evacuating Indians from Sudan and for Haj. The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues. A statement released after the call said that Modi thanked the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia‘s “excellent support” during the April 2023 evacuation and conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming Haj season. Salman expressed his full support for India‘s initiatives as part of its G20 Presidency and said he looked forward to visiting the country. The two leaders agreed to keep in touch.
