Private School Teacher Arrested After 3 Years in Singareni Exam Malpractice Case
A private school teacher who had been on the run for the past three years has finally been apprehended by the Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) in connection with a high-tech malpractice case related to the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) recruitment exam conducted in 2020. The accused, identified as Shailesh Kumar Yadav, 30, was arrested in Bihar and brought to Hyderabad by the CID special team.
The arrest of Shailesh Kumar Yadav comes as a significant breakthrough in a cheating cum-exam malpractice case registered at the Paloncha police station in Khammam district back in 2020. The case revolves around a recruitment exam for the posts of assistant engineer (E&M) Grade E2 conducted by SCCL. During the exam, invigilators detected several candidates resorting to malpractices through impersonation and the use of Bluetooth earphones.
Based on a complaint filed by SCCL, Kothagudem, a case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Telangana Public Examinations Act. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the CID for further investigation. Since then, the CID has been diligently working on the case, resulting in the arrest of 20 individuals from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
The CID’s superintendent of police (SP), Gangaram, stated that there are three ongoing investigations relating to SCCL exam malpractices in 2020. The CID has made substantial progress by apprehending multiple suspects involved in the malpractice case and, with the recent arrest of Shailesh Kumar Yadav, it is evident that the investigative team is dedicated to bringing all culprits to justice.
