Delhi Education Minister Atishi has accused the Lieutenant Governor, V K Saxena, of pressuring officials of Indraprastha University and her own department to take charge of the inauguration of the east Delhi campus of the university, threatening them with suspension. The recently-built campus has become the latest point of contention between the AAP-led city government and Saxena, with both sides claiming the right to its inauguration. The LG Secretariat had claimed that even Arvind Kejriwal knew the LG was going to inaugurate the facility. Atishi accused the LG of wanting to give the impression that the university had been constructed by the BJP. The university had been planned and constructed by Delhi’s government.
