She’s definitely hotter than me, but I’m funnier. I’m aiming for a rap Grammy, and I’d love for you to join me on that journey.’ It was a long email, and he responded immediately with just ‘Okay’.
Well, that’s a cool response, Em. No exclamation mark or smiley face to soften the blow, just a simple ‘Okay’.
Naturally, Pink was taken aback by his stone-cold reply and decided to follow up: I emailed him again saying, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever heard! I want to tackle you and rub your face in the dirt!’ His response was another plain ‘Okay’.
Despite the less-than-enthusiastic reactions, it seems the collaboration turned out just fine as Eminem did feature on the track. His verse in the song is solid, which somewhat compensates for his monosyllabic replies. Perhaps he was just trying to conserve words.
