16-Year-Old Girl Assaulted and Gang-Raped by 7 Criminals in Hyderabad’s Nandanavanam Colony: Arrests Made
In a deeply distressing incident reported from Hyderabad’s Nandanavanam colony, a 16-year-old girl has been subjected to a horrifying ordeal of assault and gang-rape by seven criminals. The incident took place at the minor’s residence, where a group of men forcibly entered and perpetrated the heinous act.
According to the Rachakonda police, seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the gang-rape, including the primary accused Abed Bin Khaled and his accomplices Tahseen, Mankala Mahesh, M Narsing, Ashraf, Faizal, and Imran. The arrest and custody of these suspects have been made under the guidelines of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The victim, who resides in Shanthi Nagar, Hyderabad, was taken to Nandanavanam by her cousin along with her two siblings. It was at this location that Abed, the main accused, initiated inappropriate physical advances towards the minor, which she vehemently rejected. The incident unfolded when a group of seven men forcefully entered the minor’s house.
Abed Bin Khaled allegedly took the victim into a bedroom and engaged in non-consensual acts, while the other perpetrators followed suit, using threats with a knife to instill fear. The police have shared that after their father abandoned the family and their mother tragically committed suicide, the survivor and her brothers found themselves in a vulnerable position, relying on the support of a relative in the Nandanavanam colony.
The timely intervention of the victim’s brother, who alerted the neighbors, ensured that the accused individuals fled the scene upon hearing the cries for help. The neighbors promptly informed the police, leading to the arrests of the seven suspects.
Among the arrested individuals, it has been revealed by the police that three played a direct role in the heinous crime. Ashraf and Narsing were present during the assault and provided assistance to the perpetrators, while Fizal and Imran supported the crime despite being aware of its gravity, according to Rachakonda Commissioner DS Chauhan.
