Pune Traffic Police to Arrest Offenders with 732 Issued Arrest Warrants
The Pune traffic police have recently received 732 arrest warrants from a motor vehicle court against traffic offenders who have failed to pay compounding fees or respond to summonses. These arrest warrants were issued against motorists using bikes and cars who were sent multiple challans but did not comply with the legal procedures. If these offenders do not appear in court after receiving the warrants, they will be arrested.
Arjun Botre, the inspector of Traffic Planning and Administration, stated that the court had been informing the offenders about the compounding fees at regular intervals. Summons were also sent to those who didn’t pay the fees and failed to appear in court. As a result, the court has now issued arrest warrants against them.
The first batch of 732 arrest warrants has been received by the city traffic department, and it is expected that more warrants will be issued in the future. The offenders against whom these warrants have been issued must present themselves before the court. Failure to appear in court will result in their immediate arrest.
