National Award-winning film 72 Hoorain has been refused a certificate for its trailer by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), according to co-producer Ashoke Pandit. Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, the film focuses on the consequences of violent extremism, and stars Pavan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir. Pandit has appealed to Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur and CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi to investigate the matter and defend the rights of filmmakers to creative independence and freedom of expression. 72 Hoorain is set to premiere on 7 July, and the trailer will be digitally released on 28 June.
