Seven individuals have been sentenced to life imprisonment in Madhya Pradesh’s Sendhwa for their involvement in the murder of BJP leader Manoj Thakre. The court acquitted three other accused in the case. The main conspirator, Tarachand Banjara, his son, Anil Bhil, and others were found guilty in connection with the murder case. Thakre was found dead in a field in Warla police station limits in January 2019, with a blood-stained stone lying next to his body. The reason behind his murder was a battle for political supremacy. BJP leader Tarachand Rathore and his son conspired to kill Thakre as his political stature was increasing in the area. After Thakre’s murder, the BJP leaders alleged that the killings of BJP leaders began as soon as Congress came to power.
