68 People Dead at UP District Hospital, 11 More Lose Their Lives

Eleven more patients died at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district due to various illnesses on Monday, taking the death toll to 68 in five days, according to officials. A team of health department officials visited the area to investigate the cause of the fatalities and said that most of the deceased were elderly patients with pre-existing conditions. The deaths occurred during a heatwave in the region. The district’s Chief Medical Officer stated that only two people died from heat stroke until Sunday. In the last 24 hours, 178 new patients were admitted to the hospital, 11 of whom died.
