Over 60,000 people are expected to flock to the Butterfield Estate in Tullamore, Ireland, this Sunday for the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show, Europe’s largest one-day agricultural event. The show promises to be a fun-filled day for people of all ages, with various attractions and activities carefully planned to cater to a diverse audience.

Brenda Kiernan, the Show PRO, expressed excitement about this year’s program, describing it as the best ever. However, she also emphasized the importance of good weather, hoping that the mild temperatures experienced in the past week will continue throughout the weekend.

Despite coinciding with the final day of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Mullingar, just half an hour away, the organizers remain confident that it won’t affect attendance. They have implemented a comprehensive traffic management plan in collaboration with An Garda Siochána to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the day. With designated parking areas, including parking on-site for 20,000 vehicles, and a free shuttle bus service from Tullamore, attendees have convenient options for transportation.

To avoid long queues at the gates, the organizers are encouraging online ticket sales. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.tullamoreshow.com for €20 or €25 on the day, with free entry for children under 12.

This year’s Tullamore Show will feature two significant inaugural events. The first is the Sustainable Livestock Village, showcasing various sustainable farming practices. Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue will officially launch the village, as well as the show itself at 12 noon. The second highlight will be the mesmerizing hot air balloon displays from the Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships, adding a riot of color to the skies above Butterfield Estate.

The show promises something for everyone. Visitors can explore the extensive trade stands, witness cookery demonstrations and farm safety demos, admire art and photography, engage in shopping, crafts, and home baking, appreciate flowers, and enjoy obedience classes for dogs. Musical entertainment will also be available throughout the day.

With a wide array of livestock on display, including cattle, sheep, horses, pigs, and competitions for All-Ireland classes, the Tullamore Show provides an ideal day out for families.

In conclusion, the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show is set to attract an estimated 60,000 visitors, both local and overseas, to the Butterfield Estate, making it the largest one-day agricultural event in Europe. With its diverse program and numerous attractions, the show promises to offer a memorable experience for all attendees.
