50 Cent Denies Intentionally Hitting Fan with Mic in LA Performance
Rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has denied intentionally hitting a fan with a microphone during a performance in Los Angeles. The Candy Shop rapper is facing battery charges after videos circulated on social media showing him twice throwing his microphone into the crowd out of apparent frustration with technical issues affecting the sound.
A woman has now come forward, claiming that she suffered facial injuries as a result of the incident. According to reports, she filed a complaint and was taken to the hospital for treatment of lacerations on her forehead. However, Jackson’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, has emphasized that his client would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone. Leemon told the press, Let’s be very clear, as I told the LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone. Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.
This incident bears resemblance to a previous case involving rapper Cardi B, who threw her microphone into the crowd after a concert-goer threw beer at her. Similarly, Cardi B faced a battery case when a person reported being injured by the thrown microphone. However, police in Las Vegas dropped the criminal battery investigation against her.
As the investigation into 50 Cent’s case continues, it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will unfold. The rapper denies any intent to harm the fan and maintains his innocence in the matter. The woman who suffered injuries has taken it upon herself to file a police report, naming Jackson in the paperwork.
Stay tuned for further updates on this incident as more details emerge.
