Security forces in Manipur have managed to recover 40 sophisticated automatic arms that were looted during ethnic riots, along with mortars, ammunition, and warlike stores. The Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been conducting area domination operations in the troubled region. They have urged anyone in possession of snatched weapons to surrender them to ensure peace and stability. Failure to do so could lead to strict legal action. Officials claim that almost 37,450 people from different communities are being sheltered across 272 relief camps in 13 districts, and that curfew has been relaxed for a few hours in most districts.
