In a significant development in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, 29 Naxals were killed during an intense encounter with security forces in Kanker. The operation, carried out by a joint search team comprising Kanker DRG and BSF, resulted in a fierce firefight at the Chhottebetiya Police Station area. The Naxals were heavily armed with a cache of weapons including AK 47 rifles, INSAS/SLR/Carbine/.303 rifles, and a substantial amount of ammunition. Unfortunately, three security personnel sustained injuries during the operation but are reported to be in stable condition.
