24-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Killing Boyfriend’s Son and Hiding Body
Delhi Police Crime Branch has made a significant breakthrough in a shocking murder case, apprehending a 24-year-old woman for allegedly killing her boyfriend’s son. The accused, identified as Pooja, is believed to have perceived the young boy as an impediment to her relationship with her partner. The incident occurred while the child was sleeping, with Pooja reportedly strangling him before concealing his body in a box hidden beneath their bed. After committing the crime, Pooja fled the scene but was later apprehended by the authorities.
Authorities have confirmed that the accused, Pooja, has confessed to her heinous act. Pooja was involved in a live-in relationship with the victim’s father, Jitender, and resided in Ranhola, West Delhi. According to reports, she blamed the minor boy for Jitender’s failure to finalize his divorce with his wife, which allegedly strained their relationship.
The police successfully apprehended Pooja Kumari on Sunday in Bakkarwala after meticulously scanning more than 300 CCTV cameras deployed across various locations. The accused had been constantly changing her hiding spots and skillfully evading the pursuing police team, making the investigation incredibly challenging.
The Delhi Police were alerted about the incident on August 10 by BLK Hospital, where the lifeless body of the 11-year-old boy had been brought. The victim bore clear signs of strangulation around his neck, indicating a brutal act of violence. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Police Station Inderpuri under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to murder.
Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, investigators deduced that the last person to visit the victim’s house was Pooja. This crucial information led the police to conduct searches at Pooja’s parents’ residences and the homes of her relatives. With a narrowed-down list of potential hideouts, a concerted effort was launched to apprehend her.
Further investigation revealed that Pooja was purportedly married to the father of the slain child. However, Jitender was already married to another woman and had initially assured Pooja that he would divorce his first wife. Ultimately, Jitender reneged on his promise and resumed living with his original partner since December 2022. This turn of events appears to have fueled Pooja’s anger and resentment, ultimately leading to the alleged murder of Jitender’s son.
