24-Year-Old Arrested for Daring Diwali Stunt: Bike Attached with Firecrackers
In a shocking incident that took place in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, a video of a daring Diwali stunt went viral on social media, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old man and his friends. The video, originally posted on the Instagram handle Devil Riders, raised concerns about the safety and legality of such stunts.
The video depicted a group of about five men on a stretch of road, where one of them attached firecrackers to the front portion of a bike. The rider then hopped onto the bike while another individual lit the firecrackers. With a burst of excitement, the rider accelerated and performed wheelies along the empty road. The specific location of the stunt remains unknown.

Upon the video gaining widespread attention, the Trichy Police launched an investigation to determine both the location and the individuals involved. The subsequent inquiry revealed that the incident occurred in Trichy and identified a man named Manikandan from Thanjavur as the performer of the bike stunt. Additionally, Ajay, a resident of Trichy, was responsible for recording and sharing the video on social media.
Taking prompt action, the police have registered a case against both young men and have arrested Ajay. They are currently making efforts to locate and apprehend Manikandan. Furthermore, in response to the rising incidents of bike wheeling in the district, Trichy police have urged the local transport department to revoke the driving licenses of 13 individuals involved in similar activities.
District Superintendent of Police Varun Kumar emphasized the importance of public cooperation and encouraged the reporting of individuals engaged in threatening and life-threatening bike wheeling activities. The police are determined to curb such dangerous stunts that not only jeopardize the safety of the riders but also put innocent bystanders at risk.
