The chairman of UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), M Devraj, has ordered officials of the Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited to ensure that Varanasi has a world-class power supply and 24-hour uninterrupted supply in each part of the district. Devraj made the request while reviewing power supply arrangements and revenue collection of PVVNL at its headquarters recently. He emphasized that with Varanasi being one of the biggest centres for pilgrimage and tourism, a world-class and model power distribution system should be made available in the area. Devraj added that UPPCL will extend all support to bring further improvement in the power supply system in order to make it free from tripping. He warned of stern action in case of detection of corrupt practices and asked officials to facilitate consumers.
